We attended a special sneak preview of Jurassic Quest to bring you all of the details about exploring this exciting event going on now through September 6th at the Austin Convention Center.
Is your child obsessed with dinosaurs?
The term paleontology may not sound appealing, but it would be hard to find a child who is not fascinated by dinosaurs on some level. There are numerous well-known advantages to introducing children to dinosaurs, and they appear to be more popular than ever. Feed your child’s dino obsession at Jurassic Quest! You can walk through the Cretaceous, Jurassic, and Triassic periods to see the dinosaurs that ruled the land, and then “deep dive” into the “Ancient Oceans” exhibit to meet the largest apex predator that ever existed – a moving, life-size, 50-foot-long megalodon. Children can even ride on the back of special animatronic dinosaurs!
You might even spot one of the star dino trainers: Safari Sarah, Dino Dustin, Captain Caleb, Prehistoric Nick, or Park Ranger Marty!
When most children can’t get enough of dinosaurs, they go through a “dinosaur phase.” In the past, Dinosaur fans had to settle for museums, movies, books, and television to satisfy their fascination with these colorful giants. At the Austin Convention Center, you can meet dinosaurs of all ages, including babies hatched only at Jurassic Quest: Cammie the Camarasaurus, Tyson the T-Rex, and Trixie the Triceratops. Keep reading to learn more about this unique event.
Jurassic Quest collaborates with leading paleontologists to ensure that each dinosaur is painstakingly replicated in every detail, from coloration to tooth size, to textured skin, fur, or feathers, drawing on the most recent research about how dinosaurs and ancient sea giants looked and moved. See adolescent dinosaurs run around and play with the audience. You can take photos, touch, and even hang out with the dinos during appearances!
Jurassic Quest, which came to Austin as a drive-through earlier this year, is one of the first indoor family edutainment shows to re-open since the pandemic began in March 2020. Jurassic Quest Drive Thru®, which began touring in June 2020 in response to COVID-19 regulations and has since welcomed over 2.5 million visitors, is still open in select cities this summer.
Sit down and enjoy the free crafts table. Kids have the option to create their own paper dinosaurs or choose from crafts and coloring pages. Only Jurassic Quest can provide families with such unique keepsakes!
